Fellowships
Continuing Medical Education
Residents are encouraged to attend local, regional, and even national conferences on topics related to pediatric practice. Residents have attended meetings of the American Academy of Pediatrics and its Virginia Chapter, the Ambulatory Pediatric Association, and the Richmond Pediatric Society. Many residents attend Pediatrics at the Beach, a program held annually at Virginia Beach and sponsored by the Children's Hospital of Richmond, Department of Pediatrics. Pediatrics at the Beach emphasizes topics in ambulatory pediatrics, pediatric emergency medicine, developmental pediatrics, and adolescent medicine.
Fellowships
Fellowships offer extensive and intensive clinical, academic and research training. The department has offered fellowships in Allergy/Immunology, Cardiology, Child Neurology, Critical Care, Human Genetics, Infectious Diseases, Neonatology-Perinatology, Hematology/Oncology and Rheumatology.
