A graduate of the University of South Florida College of Medicine, Dr. Moskowitz is Professor of Pediatrics and Medicine and Chair of the Division of Pediatric Cardiology. Dr. Moskowitz is also the Interim Chairman of the Department of Pediatrics.  He has been on the MCV Campus since 1984 after completing residency and fellowship at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. He directs the Pediatric Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory and the Pediatric Heart Transplantation Programs at VCUHS. He has expertise in interventional catheterization procedures in infants, children and adults. He is the Program Director for the Pediatric Cardiology Fellowship Training Program at VCUHS. His research, in addition to congenital heart disease, has focused on the effects of childhood passive smoking on coronary artery risks. His work has been cited in the Surgeon General's Report and the EPA Report on Respiratory Health Effects of Passive Smoking. He is the Secretary-Treasurer and Co-Chair of the Government Affairs Committee of the Virginia Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics. He served six years on the national American Academy of Pediatrics Committee on Federal Government Affairs. Dr. Moskowitz serves as an Advisory Board Member of The Children’s Health Information Network. He is an active member in the Richmond-based International Hospital for Children, and a founder of the Mended Little Hearts, Virginia Chapter, a support group for families with children with congenital heart disease. 

Dr. Moskowitz is a member of numerous professional societies and has been recognized as one of Greater Richmond’s Best Doctors and Best Docs for Kids by Richmond Magazine and America’s Top Doctors in Pediatric Cardiology.

Barry Kirkpatrick is a graduate of the Medical College of Virginia and has been a practicing pediatrician for over 40 years. Dr. Kirkpatrick is a specialist in neonatal-perinatal medicine and in 1973 he established the first Neonatal Intensive Care Unit in central Virginia, which by 1986 was one of the largest units on the East Coast. He has authored 7 book chapters in pediatric text books and published over 40 scientific articles and over 30 research abstracts. He is currently a member of the MCV Foundation Board of Trustees and a member of the MCV Alumni Association Board of Trustees.

Dr. Kirkpatrick's past community service includes:

Suzanne Britt joined the Department of Pediatrics as Administrator in October 2007.  She joined us from Westminster Canterbury where she was the Director of Assisted Living for three and a half years.  Ms. Britt was responsible for three areas of assisted living including the management a state of the art facility for those suffering from mild to moderate memory loss. 

Mrs. Britt is a Richmond native and a graduate of Mary Baldwin College. She is currently pursuing a Masters of Science in Health Administration from Virginia Commonwealth University (2009).

Barbara Harding, RN, MPA, CCM, PAHM

Barbara Harding transitioned into the leadership role of Nurse Manager of Pediatric Ambulatory Care in 2005. Ms. Harding is responsible for clinical management to ensure compliance with patient care standards and the development and management of finances of ten clinical practices. Ms. Harding joined Virginia Commonwealth University Health System in 2001, when she developed and established Central Virginia Care Connection for Children, a Title V funded program dedicated to the provision of services for children with special health care needs.

Ms. Harding earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Nursing from the College of St. Catherine in Minnesota and a Master of Public Administration from Central Michigan University. Her interest in public administration  and pediatrics has led to her appointment to the Children's Health Insurance Program Advisory Committee (CHIPAC). CHIPAC was established by the Virginia Legislature and is maintained by the Department of Medical Assistance Services for the purpose of assessing policies, operations and outreach efforts for Family Access to Medical Insurance Security (FAMIS) and FAMIS Plus (children’s Medicaid) and to evaluate enrollment, utilization of services, and health outcomes of children eligible for such programs. Ms. Harding also serves on the Public Administration Advisory Committee, Department of Political Science, Central Michigan University. 

Ms. Harding is a certified case manager.

Jennifer O’Rourke joined the Department of Pediatrics in 2005 as Director of Development.  A former Peace Corps volunteer, Ms. O'Rourke started doing fund raising to support her work with indigenous populations in Bolivia, South America.  With over 12 years of fundraising experience at other organizations such as PBS and NPR, and the Shady Grove Family YMCA, Ms. O’Rourke's role is focused on raising money to support current and future programs and faculty positions within the Department of Pediatrics. 

Ms. O'Rourke is Certified Fund Raising Executive and a graduate of Virginia Tech.
